The college fair was scheduled to begin at 10am at Sarang
Community Fair in Anaheim. As 10 o'clock drew near,
Brookhurst Avenue was blocked by the traffic of incoming

  Each lecture hall was packed. Rooms with400 seats were
not enough to seat everyone, thus many were forced to stand
at the sides and back of the room or sit on floor to listen to the speakers' valuable information.
 
The aptitude test offered by Dr. Elizabeth Kim from Brain
Fitness Center was especially popular among the
Korean parents.
The test was specifically geared towards students in
7thgrade and above, thus parents of elementary
students desired a test for younger students as well.

  James Lee's parent said, "We've always wanted to take
the aptitude test but the fees were too expensive. When we
heard that a free test was going to be given at this event,
we signed up."
 
Catalina Park came to the fair with her husband and their
two sons, Ji Hoon and Kang Hoon. She commented,
"I'm pleased that we are able to spend this time together as
a family and get informed about colleges. I'm satisfied
with everything I've learned so far, and I'm looking
forward to the second half of the fair."...
  There were representatives and booths for over 40 colleges
at the fair. Unlike most college fairs, where attendees receive
general information and brochures from the colleges,
the representatives from the colleges provided one on one
counseling with prospective students. After receiving

Private academies also took this opportunity for advertising
and marketing their own services to the students and
parents that attended the fair. They offered discounts on
counseling sessions and courses, and even gave away
free pens and bags with school logos...
  Among the attendees were not only Korean Americans,
but also students from other backgrounds. Many Korean
students brought their friends from school to attend the fair
